  • A Brief Bio
I was born in Eugene, Oregon, grew up in Kansas City and in San Antonio. I have lived in Taos, New Mexico, and more recently Portland, Oregon. As much as I love the green colors of Oregon, the sun and warmth of California finally called to me, so I have recently relocated to the East Bay of San Francisco, in Oakland, California.

    Artist's Statement

I think of creating art as a "dreaming meditation". My interests in archetypal psychology, metaphysics, the natural sciences, and art history are also apparent in my works
    .

My explorations of painting began with oils on canvas, expanding to painting on panels, then carved wood, I now paint most frequently on panels or on plexiglass, stacked in a shadow-box frame. I tend to work in a manner of free-association, or sometimes from a collage or drawing... though everything changes once the painting begins. The best paintings, for me, are always those that create themselves.
